Common questions about the Alex Ovechkin Pop! Hockey from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Alex Ovechkin Pop! Hockey figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item from Funko's mainline hockey series, meaning it was manufactured in large quantities and is widely available through major retailers and secondary markets.
The standard Alex Ovechkin Pop! Hockey figure (SKU 59) typically retails for around $12.00, and its secondary market value generally hovers near that retail price for new, unopened items. Because this is a common, non-limited production figure, it does not command a significant premium over its original retail cost.
To authenticate your Alex Ovechkin Pop! Hockey figure, verify that the packaging is a sealed, glossy box with the official Funko logo and the correct SKU number 59 printed on the back. The figure itself should have a smooth, uniform vinyl finish with sharp, clean edges and no visible mold lines or paint bleed. If the box is damaged, missing, or the figure exhibits poor paint application, it may be a counterfeit, so comparing it to high-resolution images of the official release is recommended.
I cannot find reliable information confirming the specific release date for the Alex Ovechkin Pop! Hockey figure with SKU 59.
Funko has discontinued the Alex Ovechkin Pop! Hockey figure, so it is no longer in print and cannot be purchased new from the manufacturer. While it may occasionally appear as a third-party "new" listing, these are typically unopened inventory that has been sitting on shelves for years, and the item is generally only available on the secondary market.
There is no official grading service for standard Funko Pop! figures, so you cannot obtain a certified grade for this item. To assess its condition, you should inspect the vinyl for scratches, paint chips, or misprints, and verify that the figure is in its original, unopened box with all accessories intact. If the box is damaged or the figure has been opened, its value as a collectible will be significantly reduced compared to a sealed, mint-condition item.
