Common questions about the Alien Pop! Movies from Funko (2021).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Alien Pop! Movies figure (SKU 975) is not considered rare, as it was part of a standard mass-production release by Funko in 2021. It is a common item that is widely available in retail stores and online marketplaces, meaning its value does not typically exceed the standard retail price for unopened figures.
The value of a Funko Pop! Alien (SKU 975) varies significantly based on condition, with sealed figures typically commanding a higher price than open ones. As of recent market trends, a sealed copy generally sells for approximately $15 to $25, while an open figure usually ranges from $8 to $15. Prices can fluctuate based on local demand and the specific platform used for sale.
To authenticate a Funko Pop! figure, verify that the box is sealed with the official holographic sticker and that the figure itself has the correct weight and paint application for the 2021 release. Check the bottom of the figure for the "Funko" logo and the year of manufacture, which should align with the 2021 production date. Additionally, compare the figure's proportions and specific details, such as the texture of the alien's skin and the shape of the head, against high-resolution images of the authentic SKU 975. If the packaging feels flimsy, the colors are off, or the figure lacks the proper weight, it is likely a counterfeit.

Funko has discontinued the Alien Pop! Movies figure (SKU 975), so it is no longer in print and cannot be purchased new directly from the manufacturer. While it may occasionally appear as a third-party "new" listing on resale platforms, these are typically unopened stock from previous retail runs. Collectors seeking this item should generally look for used examples on the secondary market.
To condition-check a Funko Pop! figure, inspect the vinyl for surface scratches, scuffs, or paint chips, paying close attention to the head and hands which are prone to wear. Verify that the eyes are properly aligned and free of smudges, and ensure the figure stands level without leaning. For a formal grade, you must submit the item to a third-party authentication service such as PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on specific criteria like color, centering, and surface quality.
