Common questions about the AMC9 Captain America - Artist Mix from Hot Toys.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Hot Toys AMC9 Captain America Artist Mix is not considered rare. It is a standard production 1/6th scale figure released as part of the Marvel Legends Artist Mix series, and it is widely available through major retailers and the secondary market.
I cannot find reliable information regarding the specific market value of the Hot Toys AMC9 Captain America Artist Mix (SKU 904685). As collectible prices fluctuate based on condition and market demand, I recommend checking current listings on secondary marketplaces like eBay or specialized figure trading forums for an accurate appraisal.
I cannot verify the authenticity of a specific physical item without examining it in person. To authenticate your Hot Toys Captain America Artist Mix, check for the official Hot Toys logo, the MPN 904685 on the packaging, and the presence of a unique serial number on the box or figure. You can cross-reference these details against the official Hot Toys product specifications and inspect the paint quality, sculpting, and articulation for consistency with known genuine releases.
I cannot find reliable information confirming a specific release date for a Hot Toys product with the MPN AMC009 or the designation "AMC9 Captain America - Artist Mix." Hot Toys typically uses alphanumeric codes (such as MMS or MOC) for their 1/6 scale figures, and "AMC" is not a standard prefix for their current catalog, suggesting the SKU or MPN provided may be inaccurate.
Hot Toys has discontinued the AMC9 Captain America Artist Mix, meaning it is no longer in production and cannot be purchased new directly from the manufacturer. This figure is now considered a discontinued item, so availability is limited to the secondary market through third-party retailers or private collectors.
Grading a Hot Toys 1/6th scale figure like the AMC9 Captain America Artist Mix typically involves submitting it to a professional third-party grading service such as CGC, which will evaluate the figure's condition, assign a numerical grade, and encapsulate it in a protective case. For a personal condition check, inspect the sculpt for paint transfer, scratches, or molding defects, and verify that all included accessories, such as the shield and alternate hands, are present and undamaged. Because Hot Toys figures are not traditionally graded by major comic book services like PSA, you should look for specialized action figure grading companies if you intend to sell the item as a graded collectible.
