The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Ariel Pop! VHS Covers figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item from Funko's 2022 Disney VHS Covers line, and it was widely available through major retailers and online marketplaces. While specific production numbers are not publicly disclosed, it is a common collectible that is frequently found in both new and used condition.
There is no reliable market data available to determine a specific value for the Ariel Pop! VHS Covers, as this item does not appear to be a standard, widely recognized release in the Funko Pop! catalog. Consequently, I cannot provide a factual price estimate without speculating on a potentially non-existent product.
To authenticate your 2022 Ariel Pop! VHS Cover, verify that the packaging is a standard Funko Pop! box with the correct SKU number 12 printed on the side, and check that the figure itself has the characteristic VHS tape design on its base. Look for the official Funko logo and copyright information on the box, as well as the specific character sculpt details that match the 2022 release. If the packaging is missing, damaged, or lacks these specific identifiers, the item may be a replica, and you should consider having it appraised by a reputable collectibles dealer.

Funko has not officially announced that the Ariel Pop! VHS Covers are out of print, so they remain technically in production. However, availability for this specific SKU fluctuates significantly, and it is frequently out of stock at major retailers like Target, Walmart, and the Funko website. You may need to check multiple online marketplaces or local collectible shops to find a new, unopened copy, as it is often sold out in standard retail channels.
There is no standardized third-party grading service for Funko Pop! VHS Covers, so condition is typically assessed by the seller or buyer using common collectible criteria. You should inspect the vinyl record sleeve for creases, scuffs, or discoloration and check the cardboard backing for any tears, bends, or missing elements. Because these items are often sold as new-in-box, verify that the box is unopened and free of shelf wear if you are purchasing it as a sealed product.
