Common questions about the AWESOM-O Pop! South Park from Funko (2020).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The AWESOM-O Pop! South Park is not considered rare, as it was part of a standard mass-produced release by Funko in 2020. Like most standard edition vinyl figures from that year, it was widely available through major retailers and online marketplaces. While specific variants like chases or exclusions may have lower production numbers, the base figure remains common in the secondary market.
The AWESOM-O Pop! South Park figure is a standard retail collectible that typically sells for around its original retail price, usually between $12 and $15, when new in box. Because it is a common item from a popular line, it does not carry a significant premium in the secondary market, and its value is largely determined by its condition and the current availability of new stock.
To authenticate your Funko Pop! AWESOM-O, first verify that the box features the official Funko logo and the South Park licensing mark, as unlicensed reproductions often lack these trademarks. Inspect the figure itself for consistent paint application, sharp sculpting details, and a smooth finish, noting that counterfeit items frequently exhibit sloppy paint lines or plastic seams. You can also cross-reference the SKU 25 and the 2020 release date against official Funko catalogs to confirm the item's legitimacy. If the packaging or figure quality seems inconsistent with known genuine examples, consider having it appraised by a reputable collectibles expert.
The AWESOM-O Pop! South Park was released in 2020 by Funko.
The AWESOM-O Pop! South Park (SKU 25) is considered out of print, as Funko typically discontinues production of specific figures once their initial manufacturing run is complete. While it is no longer sold new by Funko or major retail partners, the figure can often be found on the secondary market through platforms like eBay, Amazon, or local collectible shops, though prices may vary based on condition and demand.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the figure for common defects such as paint overspray, misaligned eyes, or hairline cracks in the vinyl, while also verifying that the box is free of significant wear, dents, or water damage. For a formal grade, you must submit the item to a professional third-party grading service like PSA, which will assign a score based on specific criteria for the figure and its packaging. Be aware that grading fees can be high relative to the value of a standard 2020 release, so many collectors prefer to simply document the condition with photos rather than seeking a certified grade.
