Common questions about the Balloon Boy Pop! Games from Funko (2017).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Balloon Boy Pop! Games figure is not considered rare, as it was part of a standard mass-production run released in 2017. Like most standard Funko Pop! Games releases, it was widely distributed and remains readily available on the secondary market.
The Balloon Boy Pop! Games figure (SKU 217) is a common mass-produced item from 2017, and its value is generally low, typically ranging from $2 to $5 in loose condition. Sealed-in-box copies may command a slightly higher price, often between $5 and $10, depending on the condition of the packaging. Because this figure was widely distributed and is not a rare variant, it does not carry significant collector value beyond its face price.
Authenticating a 2017 Funko Pop! Games Balloon Boy (SKU 217) involves checking for consistent paint application, proper seam alignment, and the correct "Funko" logo on the base. Genuine figures from this era typically feature a smooth, matte finish on the vinyl and a sturdy, well-fitted box with accurate printing. If the figure exhibits significant paint bleed, loose joints, or a base that feels lightweight or poorly molded, it is likely a counterfeit. For definitive verification, you can compare your item against high-resolution images of known authentic examples or consult with a certified authentication service.
The Balloon Boy Pop! Games was released in 2017 by Funko.
The Balloon Boy Pop! Games figure (SKU 217) is currently out of print and is no longer available for purchase as a new item from Funko or major retailers. Because it was released in 2017 and has since been discontinued, any new copies found today are likely limited to remaining stock at third-party resellers, which often carry significantly higher prices than the original retail value.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the vinyl figure for surface imperfections such as scratches, scuffs, or paint flaws, and verifying that the head and body connect securely without excessive wobble. You should also examine the box for any dents, creases, or damage to the window, as these factors significantly impact the item's value. While third-party grading services exist for collectibles, most standard Funko Pops are evaluated based on their original box condition and the figure's mint status rather than formal numerical grading.
