Common questions about the Bane Pop! Heroes from Funko (2017).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Bane Pop! Heroes (SKU 218) is not considered rare. It is a standard production figure from the 2017 DC Comics line that was widely available through major retailers and Funko's own channels. While specific variants like Chase or Glow-in-the-Dark versions may have lower production numbers, the base figure remains a common collectible with high market availability.
The value of a Bane Pop! Heroes figure (SKU 218) depends heavily on its condition and whether it is sealed in its original box. As a standard 2017 release, the figure typically sells for between $5 and $15 on the secondary market if opened, while a sealed copy might command a slightly higher premium, often ranging from $10 to $20. Prices can fluctuate based on current demand and the specific marketplace, so checking recent completed sales on platforms like eBay provides the most accurate real-time valuation.
Authenticating a 2017 Bane Pop! (SKU 218) involves checking the box for a clear, sharp print and the correct "Funko" logo, as well as verifying that the figure's paint application is clean without significant bleeding or misalignment. The plastic should feel solid and uniform, and the eyes should be properly centered within the sockets. While minor manufacturing variances exist, significant flaws like cracked plastic, missing parts, or blurry box art are strong indicators of a counterfeit. If you are still uncertain, comparing your item side-by-side with a verified authentic example from a reputable collector or retailer is the most reliable method.
The Bane Pop! Heroes was released in 2017 by Funko.
The Bane Pop! Heroes (SKU 218) is no longer in print and is not currently available to purchase new from Funko. As a 2017 release, it has been discontinued, meaning new copies are only obtainable through the secondary market from third-party resellers.
Condition-checking a Bane Pop! Heroes involves inspecting the figure for common defects such as paint overspray, missing accessories, or cracks in the plastic, with particular attention to the mask and cape details. You should verify that the eyes are aligned correctly and that the figure stands level on its base without wobbling. While third-party grading services like PSA or CGC can provide a standardized score, most collectors assess these items visually against a 10-point scale, where a 10 indicates a factory-fresh, unopened condition.
