The Barbossa with Money Pop! Disney is not considered rare, as it was a standard production release from Funko's 2016 Disney collection. It was widely distributed through major retailers and remains easily available on the secondary market, meaning its value is generally determined by condition rather than scarcity.
The value of the 2016 Funko Pop! Barbossa with Money (SKU 225) varies significantly based on condition, with sealed figures typically commanding a premium over loose ones. As a common release from a popular franchise, it generally sells for a modest amount, often ranging from a few dollars to around $10-$15 for a loose figure in good condition. Prices can fluctuate based on current market demand and the specific state of the packaging, so checking recent completed sales on platforms like eBay is the most reliable way to determine its current worth.
To authenticate your 2016 Funko Pop! Disney Barbossa with Money (SKU 225), first verify that the box is sealed with the original shrink wrap and displays the correct product number and copyright date. Inspect the figure for consistent paint application, proper articulation of the money prop, and the standard Funko logo on the base, as counterfeit items often feature blurry printing or poor plastic quality. If the item lacks the original packaging, compare its physical dimensions and weight against a verified authentic example, noting that significant deviations in size or material feel are strong indicators of a replica.

Grading a Funko Pop! figure is a subjective process that relies on visual inspection rather than a standardized numerical scale used for trading cards. You should examine the figure under bright, direct light to check for common defects such as paint overspray, seam lines, mold marks, and scratches on the vinyl surface. Additionally, verify that the eyes are properly aligned and that the "money" accessory is intact and securely attached, as missing or damaged accessories significantly impact the item's value.
