Common questions about the Biff Tannen Pop! Movies from Funko (2020).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Biff Tannen Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item released in 2020 as part of the Back to the Future collection, meaning it was widely available to the general public. While specific variants like chases or exclusions may be harder to find, the base figure is a common collectible.
The value of the 2020 Biff Tannen Pop! Movies figure (SKU 963) varies significantly based on condition, with prices typically ranging from $5 to $15 for a used item in good shape. New-in-box copies generally command a higher price, often between $10 and $20, depending on current market demand and availability.
To authenticate your 2020 Biff Tannen Pop! (SKU 963), verify that the box features the standard Funko branding and that the vinyl figure exhibits the correct proportions, paint application, and sculpting details consistent with the official 2020 release. Check the bottom of the figure for the molded "Funko" logo and ensure the packaging includes the correct SKU number and copyright information. If the figure feels unusually light, has poor paint quality, or lacks the proper mold marks, it may be a counterfeit, so comparing it to high-resolution images of verified authentic examples is recommended.
The Biff Tannen Pop! Movies was released in 2020 by Funko.
Funko has not officially announced a discontinuation of the Biff Tannen Pop! Movies figure, so it remains technically in print. However, availability fluctuates significantly, and the item is frequently out of stock at major retailers like Target, Walmart, and the Funko Shop. Because it is a standard release rather than a limited edition, it is generally easier to find new than exclusive variants, but buyers should expect periodic stock shortages.
To grade a Biff Tannen Pop! Movies figure, you should submit it to a professional third-party grading service such as PSA, which will evaluate the item's condition on a scale from 1 to 10 and encapsulate it in a tamper-evident slab. For a less formal condition check, you can inspect the figure yourself for common defects like paint chips, scratches, or seam lines, keeping in mind that minor imperfections are common in mass-produced vinyl items. While you can assess the condition at home, only a certified grading company can provide a verifiable grade that affects resale value.
