To authenticate your Black Manta Pop! (SKU 248), first verify that the figure is made of vinyl with a matte finish and that the box displays the official Funko logo and a barcode. Check for consistent paint application, particularly on the silver armor and black suit, as poor paint jobs or misaligned eyes are common signs of counterfeits. The most reliable method is to compare the specific details of your figure and box against high-resolution images of the authentic 2018 release, noting that the character should have a distinct, sculpted helmet and a sturdy base.

The Black Manta Pop! Heroes (SKU 248) is no longer in print and is not available to purchase new from Funko. As a 2018 release, it is considered out of production, meaning any new copies found on the market are likely from existing inventory or are re-releases under different SKUs.
Grading a Black Manta Pop! Heroes involves inspecting the vinyl figure for common defects such as paint overspray, seams, or scratches, as well as checking the acrylic box for chips, cracks, or cloudiness. While third-party services like PSA can assign a numerical grade, most collectors simply assess the item's condition visually by comparing it to known standards for "mint" versus "played" figures. It is important to note that the box condition is often valued as highly as the figure itself, so any damage to the packaging will significantly impact its perceived value.
