Common questions about the Buzz Lightyear (Metallic) Pop! Disney from Funko (2011).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Buzz Lightyear (Metallic) Pop! Disney is not considered rare by modern collectible standards, as it was a standard retail release from 2011 and remains widely available in both new and used condition. While early metallic figures from that era are no longer in production, their continued availability in the secondary market means they do not command the premium prices associated with true rarity.
The value of a Buzz Lightyear (Metallic) Pop! Disney figure varies significantly based on its condition and whether it is sold in the box, with unopened retail copies typically trading in the range of $10 to $25. As a 2011 release, this specific metallic variant is no longer in production, which can influence pricing, but it is not considered a rare or high-value collectible compared to limited editions. For the most accurate current market value, you should check recent completed sales on platforms like eBay or specialized collectibles marketplaces.
The most reliable way to authenticate your 2011 Buzz Lightyear (Metallic) Pop! is by examining the packaging, as genuine Funko products from that era feature specific branding, a holographic sticker, and a barcode on the box. The figure itself should have a matte finish with distinct metallic paint applications on the suit and helmet, and the base should be solid and free of excessive flash or molding defects. If the packaging is missing, you can compare the figure's proportions and paint quality against verified images of the 2011 release, though the absence of the box makes definitive authentication more difficult.
The Buzz Lightyear (Metallic) Pop! Disney was released in 2011 by Funko.
The Buzz Lightyear (Metalic) Pop! Disney (SKU 02) is out of print and is no longer available to purchase new from Funko or authorized retailers. It was part of the initial wave of Disney Pop! figures released in 2011 and has since been discontinued. Collectors seeking this specific metallic variant must look for pre-owned copies on the secondary market.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the vinyl for surface scratches, paint chips, and molding defects, while also verifying that the box is free of significant damage, shelf wear, or price stickers. For the Metallic variant, pay particular attention to the finish, as metallic paints are more susceptible to showing minor scuffs than standard matte finishes. If you are seeking a formal grade for resale purposes, you should submit the item to a third-party grading service like PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on the figure's and box's overall condition.
