No, the Buzz Lightyear Pop! Disney (SKU 523) is not considered rare. It is a standard production figure from the original Disney Pop! line released in 2017, and it was widely available in stores and online for several years. While specific sealed boxes may command a premium today due to age, the figure itself is a common collectible with high production numbers.
The value of a Funko Pop! Buzz Lightyear (SKU 523) varies significantly based on condition, with sealed figures typically trading between $15 and $25 in the current market. Unopened boxes in mint condition generally command the higher end of this range, while opened figures are worth less. Prices fluctuate based on local supply and demand, so checking recent completed sales on platforms like eBay provides the most accurate current valuation.
To authenticate a Funko Pop! figure, first verify that the box is sealed with the official holographic sticker and that the figure itself has a smooth, uniform finish without visible mold lines or air bubbles. Check the base for the correct copyright date and ensure the "Funko" logo is clearly printed, as counterfeit items often feature blurry text or inconsistent paint application. While there is no single definitive test for authenticity, comparing the figure's proportions and color accuracy against official Funko product images is a reliable method for spotting fakes. If the item was purchased from an authorized retailer, it is highly likely to be genuine, but buying from third-party marketplaces carries a higher risk of counterfeits.

To condition-check a Buzz Lightyear Pop! Disney, inspect the vinyl figure for surface scratches, paint chips, or molding defects, paying close attention to the helmet and boots. Verify that the eyes are properly aligned and free of cloudiness, and ensure the head is securely attached to the body without any gaps. Examine the packaging for any signs of tampering, such as tape residue or creases, as the box condition significantly impacts the value of the collectible.
