No, the Buzz Lightyear (XL-15 with Sox) Pop! is not considered rare. It is a standard production item released by Funko in 2022 and was widely available through major retailers. While specific variants like chases or exclusions may be harder to find, this base model remains common in the secondary market.
The standard retail price for the 2022 Funko Pop! Buzz Lightyear (XL-15 with Sox) is typically around $19.99 to $24.99. Because this is a standard, non-exclusive release, its value in the secondary market generally remains at or below the original retail price, often selling for less than $15 if unopened.
To authenticate your Funko Pop! figure, first verify that the box is sealed with the official holographic sticker and that the plastic packaging is intact, as unopened boxes are the standard for resale. Inspect the figure itself for consistent paint application, sharp sculpting details, and the correct "Funko" logo on the base, which should be firmly attached and not loose. You can also cross-reference the SKU 1211 and the specific "XL-15 with Sox" variant against official Funko release catalogs or reputable collector databases to confirm the packaging design and figure proportions match the 2022 production standards. If the figure exhibits poor paint quality, misaligned parts, or a missing base logo, it is likely a counterfeit.
The Buzz Lightyear (XL-15 with Sox) Pop! Disney was released in 2022 by Funko.
Funko has discontinued the production of the 2022 Disney Pop! series, meaning the Buzz Lightyear (XL-15 with Sox) figure is no longer in print. Consequently, it is not available to buy new from Funko's official retail channels or major authorized retailers, and collectors must seek out remaining stock from third-party sellers or the secondary market.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the figure for common defects such as paint overspray, seam lines, or chipped plastic, particularly on the socks and boots where wear is frequent. You should also verify that the eyes are properly aligned and free of bubbles, and ensure the figure fits securely within its original window box without excessive movement. For a formal grade, you can submit the item to a third-party authentication service like PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on its physical condition.
