Sideshow Collectibles is a reputable manufacturer of high-end Star Wars figures, so a C-3PO produced by them in 2016 is an authentic licensed product if it was purchased from a verified retailer. To authenticate your specific item, check for the Sideshow logo and copyright information on the base or packaging, and verify that the sculpting, paint application, and articulation match the official product images for the 2016 release. If you purchased the item from a secondary market, compare its details against known counterfeit examples, as Sideshow figures are occasionally counterfeited, though this is less common than with lower-tier manufacturers.

Sideshow Collectibles' 2016 C-3PO figure is no longer in print and is not available to buy new from the manufacturer. As a limited-production item from that year, it is now only available through the secondary market, such as online resale platforms, where prices are typically higher than the original retail value.
Condition-checking a Sideshow Collectibles C-3PO primarily involves inspecting the gold-plated surface for scratches, scuffs, or plating loss, which is common on the head and hands due to handling. You should also examine the joints for any stress cracks or loose parts and verify that the eyes are intact and free of clouding. While third-party grading services like PSA can assign a numerical score based on these factors, most collectors assess value by comparing the figure's cosmetic flaws against the original retail packaging and accessories.
