Common questions about the Captain Rex from Sideshow Collectibles (2014).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
Sideshow Collectibles does not publish specific production run numbers for their 1/6th scale figures, so there is no official data to definitively classify the Captain Rex as rare. However, as a standard retail release from 2014, it is generally considered a common item compared to limited edition or exclusive variants. You can expect to find this figure in the secondary market with relative ease, though prices may fluctuate based on condition and packaging.
The Captain Rex originally retailed for $169.99. Live secondary-market data isn't indexed yet — check eBay sold listings for current value.
Sideshow Collectibles does not manufacture a 12-inch Captain Rex figure with SKU 710532, as that specific number is not associated with a known production run for that character in 2014. Consequently, if your item bears this SKU, it is likely a counterfeit, a mislabeled third-party product, or a data entry error, making it difficult to authenticate as a genuine Sideshow release. I recommend verifying the SKU against Sideshow’s official catalog or contacting their customer service directly, as I cannot confirm the existence of this specific item in their verified inventory.
The Captain Rex was released in 2014 by Sideshow Collectibles.
Sideshow Collectibles discontinued the Captain Rex figure in 2014, so it is no longer in print and cannot be purchased new directly from the manufacturer. The item is only available through the secondary market, such as online auction sites or private collectors.
There is no reliable information available to confirm that Sideshow Collectibles produced a specific "Captain Rex" figure with SKU 710532 in 2014, so I cannot provide accurate grading guidelines for this item. If you can verify the correct manufacturer, year, or product name, I can offer general advice on condition-checking standard collectible figures.
