Sideshow Collectibles did not produce a standalone Captain Rex figure in 2011, as the character was not introduced in the Star Wars canon until 2012. Therefore, a figure labeled as a 2011 Sideshow release is not a genuine product from that manufacturer and is likely a counterfeit, a mislabeled third-party item, or a confusion with a different figure. You should verify the authenticity of any Sideshow product by checking for the official Sideshow logo, specific mold details, and packaging standards, but the stated year and character combination indicates this item is not a legitimate Sideshow release.

To grade a Sideshow Collectibles Captain Rex figure, you should inspect the paint application for any visible chipping, fading, or "paint transfer" on the plastic surfaces, particularly on the helmet and armor edges. Check the joints for play, ensuring the ball joints are tight and not loose, and verify that the included accessories and stand are present and undamaged. For a formal grade, the figure must be submitted to a third-party grading service like PSA, which will evaluate the item based on specific criteria for paint, plastic, and accessories, assigning a numerical score from 1 to 10.
