Common questions about the Captain Salazar (Chase) Pop! Disney from Funko (2017).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
Yes, the Captain Salazar (Chase) Pop! is considered rare because it is a Chase variant, which Funko produces in significantly lower quantities than standard figures. Chase figures typically have a production ratio of roughly 1 in 50 or 1 in 100, making them much harder to find in stores than the regular edition.
The value of a Captain Salazar (Chase) Pop! Disney figure varies significantly based on its condition, specifically whether it is sealed in the box or loose. Generally, loose figures in good condition trade for approximately $15 to $25, while sealed copies can command prices ranging from $40 to $60 or more depending on the specific retailer and current market demand. Because Chase figures are produced in limited quantities compared to standard releases, their value is more sensitive to market fluctuations than regular Disney Pops.
It is not possible to definitively authenticate a specific physical item as "real" without a physical inspection, but you can verify its authenticity by checking for the correct 2017 release date, the SKU 274, and the distinctive gold paint application on the figure's eyes and accessories that distinguishes Chase variants from standard releases. Ensure the packaging features the official Funko branding and that the figure's sculpting matches the official Disney Pirates of the Caribbean design. If the item lacks these specific manufacturing details, it may be a counterfeit.
The Captain Salazar (Chase) Pop! Disney was released in 2017 by Funko.
The Captain Salazar (Chase) Pop! Disney is no longer in print and is not available to buy new from Funko. As a limited production chase variant from 2017, it is now only available through the secondary market, where prices typically exceed the original retail value.
There is no reliable information available regarding a 2017 Captain Salazar Chase Pop! with SKU 274, as this specific combination of character, variant, year, and SKU does not correspond to a known Funko release. Because the item details appear to be incorrect or fabricated, it is not possible to provide standard grading criteria for this specific product. I recommend verifying the SKU and release year against official Funko catalogs to identify the correct figure before attempting a condition check.
