No, the Caterpie Pop! Games figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item from the 2021 Pokémon Games series, and because it was widely released and is not a limited edition, it is generally easy to find in the secondary market.
The Caterpie Pop! Games figure (SKU 848) is a standard production item from 2021, and its value is primarily determined by current market demand for the Pokémon Games series. As a common character, it typically sells for a modest price, generally ranging between $5 and $15 in new-in-box condition, depending on the seller and platform. Prices for this specific SKU are not stable, so checking recent completed sales on secondary markets like eBay will provide the most accurate current valuation.
To authenticate your Caterpie Pop! Games figure, verify that the packaging displays the official Funko logo and the specific SKU number 848 on the box. Examine the figure itself for consistent paint application, sharp sculpting details, and the correct "Pop! Games" branding on the base, as counterfeit items often feature blurry text or uneven coloration. You can also cross-reference the box art and product specifications with Funko's official website or reputable collector databases to ensure the design matches the 2021 release.

Funko has not officially announced that the Caterpie Pop! Games figure (SKU 848) is out of print, so it remains technically in production. However, specific video game-themed figures are often produced in limited quantities and can become difficult to find at retail prices. You should check current stock on major retailers like Amazon, Target, or Walmart, as availability fluctuates and the item may frequently sell out.
To grade a Caterpie Pop! Games figure, inspect the vinyl surface for scratches, scuffs, or paint imperfections, paying close attention to the eyes and mouth which are prone to defects. Verify that the figure is seated correctly in its base without any gaps or misalignment, and ensure the window box is free of dents, tears, or significant wear. While professional grading services like PSA can assign a numerical score, most collectors assess condition by checking for these specific flaws and comparing the item to high-resolution images of a pristine example.
