Common questions about the Chupacabra Pop! Fantastic Beasts from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Chupacabra Pop! from the Fantastic Beasts series is not considered rare in the traditional sense, as it was part of a standard retail release rather than a limited production run. While its value may fluctuate based on condition and market demand, it is generally accessible to collectors and does not carry the scarcity premium associated with exclusive or convention-only figures.
The Chupacabra Pop! from the Fantastic Beasts series (SKU 18) is a standard production item that typically sells for between $10 and $15 in new, sealed condition on the secondary market. Because this figure was not a limited edition and was widely available during the initial release, it does not command a significant premium over its original retail price. Values can fluctuate slightly based on local demand and the specific condition of the packaging.
To authenticate your Chupacabra Pop! from Fantastic Beasts, first verify that the box is sealed with the official Funko branding and that the figure itself has the correct SKU number, which is 18, printed on the base. Examine the paint application for consistent quality and check that the plastic has the standard matte finish without excessive gloss or sharp mold lines. If the figure lacks the proper logo on the base or the packaging appears counterfeit, it is likely a replica, as Funko does not typically release this character as a standalone SKU outside of specific multi-packs or exclusive sets.
I cannot find reliable information confirming a specific release date for a Chupacabra Pop! from the Fantastic Beasts line with SKU 18. Funko's SKU numbers are typically sequential and do not correspond to specific character releases, and the Chupacabra is not a standard character from the Fantastic Beasts film franchise, making this item description likely inaccurate.
The Chupacabra Pop! from the Fantastic Beasts series is no longer in print and is not available for purchase new from Funko. This specific figure was part of a limited production run, so it is currently only available through the secondary market from third-party sellers.
Grading a Chupacabra Pop! from Fantastic Beasts involves inspecting the figure for common manufacturing defects such as paint overspray, seam lines, or misaligned eyes, as well as checking for any damage to the plastic. For a formal grade, you would submit the figure to a professional service like PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on its condition relative to other examples of the same SKU. Keep in mind that Pop! figures are generally considered casual collectibles, and their value is often driven more by rarity and demand than by a professional grade, so a visual inspection for major flaws is usually sufficient for most buyers.
