The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the City Hunter Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item released by Funko in 2024, meaning it was manufactured in typical quantities and is generally available through regular retail channels.
The City Hunter Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1751) is a standard retail release from 2024, and its value is generally determined by its original retail price, which typically ranges between $12 and $15. Because it is a recent release with high production volume, it does not currently command a premium in the secondary market, and its value is unlikely to increase significantly unless the character gains substantial cultural traction.
To authenticate your City Hunter Pop! Movies figure, first verify that the packaging includes the official Funko logo, a barcode, and a holographic sticker, which are standard security features for 2024 releases. Examine the figure itself for consistent paint application, proper seam alignment, and the correct sculpting of Ryo's hair and clothing, as counterfeits often exhibit sloppy detailing or off-color plastics. While there is no single definitive test for every item, significant deviations in weight, texture, or packaging quality compared to known authentic examples are strong indicators of a fake. If you remain uncertain, consider submitting photos to the Funko community forums or seeking a professional authentication service for a definitive assessment.

Funko does not publicly disclose real-time print status or specific production run details for individual Pop! Movies figures, so it is not possible to definitively confirm if the City Hunter figure (SKU 1751) is currently in print. Availability fluctuates based on retailer inventory and regional distribution, meaning the figure may be out of stock at major retailers even if it has not been officially discontinued. To determine current availability, you should check the live inventory of authorized Funko retailers or the official Funko website.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the vinyl figure for manufacturing defects such as paint overspray, seams, or misaligned parts, and verifying that the original box is free from significant damage like crushed corners or deep creases. While you can perform a basic visual inspection at home, obtaining an official grade requires submitting the item to a third-party grading service like PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on specific criteria for the figure and its packaging. Be aware that grading fees can be substantial relative to the item's value, so it is often more practical to simply document the condition with clear photographs for resale purposes.
