To authenticate your 2024 Funko Pop! Cookie Monster (Monsterpiece Theater) with SKU 1609, verify that the box displays the official Funko logo, the Sesame Street licensing mark, and the correct SKU number on the barcode label. Inspect the figure for high-quality paint application, sharp sculpting details, and a secure, seamless joint where the head meets the body, as counterfeit items often exhibit sloppy paint lines or loose parts. If the packaging and figure quality appear consistent with official standards, the item is likely authentic, though definitive verification may require comparing it against known genuine examples or consulting a certified authentication service.
The Cookie Monster (Monsterpiece Theater) Pop! Sesame Street was released in 2024 by Funko.
Funko does not publicly disclose real-time print status or discontinuation dates for specific Pop! figures, so there is no official confirmation that SKU 1609 is currently out of print. However, because this item is a 2024 release, it is likely still available for purchase new through major retailers such as Amazon, Target, or the Funko Shop, though stock levels may vary by location.
Funko Pop! figures are generally not graded by major third-party authentication services like PSA or Beckett, as they are considered mass-produced collectibles rather than rare investment items. To condition-check this specific 2024 release, you should inspect the figure for common defects such as paint overspray, chipped plastic, or misaligned eyes, and verify that the original box is free of significant wear, creases, or damage. The value of the item is primarily determined by its sealed condition and the integrity of the packaging, so any flaws in the box will significantly reduce its resale price.
