Common questions about the Cookie Monster Pop! Sesame Street from Funko (2015).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Cookie Monster Pop! Sesame Street figure is not considered rare. It was part of Funko's standard mass-production line for the Sesame Street franchise and was widely available in retail stores and online during its release window. While specific production numbers for the 2015 SKU 02 are not publicly disclosed, the item is generally common and easily found on the secondary market.
The standard 3.75-inch Cookie Monster Pop! (Sesame Street #2) from 2015 typically retails for new, unopened figures in the range of $10 to $15. Used figures in good condition generally sell for $5 to $10, with prices fluctuating based on the condition of the box and the figure itself. This item is a common entry-level collectible, so it does not command a premium price in the secondary market.
To authenticate your 2015 Cookie Monster Pop! (SKU 02), first verify that the vinyl figure is solid and opaque, as counterfeit versions often use translucent plastic or have a rough, porous texture. Check the base for a clean, molded "Funko" logo and ensure the paint application is sharp without significant bleeding, particularly around the eyes and mouth. While the 2015 production run did not include a holographic sticker, the packaging should feature the standard Sesame Street branding and a barcode that matches the official SKU 02 listing. If the figure feels unusually light, has a strong chemical smell, or displays poor paint quality, it is likely a reproduction.
The Cookie Monster Pop! Sesame Street was released in 2015 by Funko.
Funko has discontinued the original 2015 Sesame Street line, including the Cookie Monster figure, so it is no longer in print. While you may occasionally find unopened units remaining in retail inventory or through third-party resellers, these are considered out-of-print items and are generally not available for purchase directly from Funko.
To grade a Funko Pop!, you should inspect the figure for common defects such as paint overspray, seams, or scratches on the vinyl, and verify that the head is properly aligned and the eyes are intact. For a formal grade, submit the figure to a professional third-party grading service like PSA, which will encapsulate the item and assign a score based on its condition. If you are not seeking a formal grade, simply compare the item against high-resolution images of a known perfect example to identify any visible flaws.
