To authenticate a 2024 Funko Pop! of the Cowardly Lion (SKU 1515), first verify that the box features the official Funko logo, the correct SKU number, and a barcode that matches the product listing. Inspect the vinyl figure for consistent paint application, sharp sculpting details, and a clear, undamaged base, as poor quality control is a common indicator of counterfeits. I cannot find reliable information confirming that the 2024 release of the Cowardly Lion Pop! Movies (SKU 1515) is currently in print or available for purchase new. Funko frequently rotates its inventory, and specific movie tie-in figures often become discontinued after their initial release window, so checking current stock on major retailers is necessary to verify availability.
To grade a Funko Pop!, you should assess the figure for common defects such as paint overs, chipped plastic, or misaligned eyes, which can significantly impact its value. For a formal grade, you can submit the figure to a third-party grading service like PSA, which will encapsulate it and assign a score from 1 to 10 based on its condition. If you are simply checking it for personal collection purposes, inspect it under bright light to ensure the vinyl is free of scratches and the box is in mint condition, as the packaging is often as important as the figure itself.
