Common questions about the Dark Phoenix Marvel Pop! from Funko (2012).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Dark Phoenix Marvel Pop! (SKU 22) is not considered rare. It is a standard production figure from the original 2012 Marvel series that was widely available at retail stores and online retailers. Because it was part of the initial mass-production run and not a limited edition, it remains common and easily accessible on the secondary market.
I cannot provide a reliable valuation for this item because the specific SKU 22 does not correspond to a Dark Phoenix figure in Funko's 2012 release catalog, and the current market value of any specific Pop! vinyl depends heavily on its condition, box status, and real-time sales data.
I cannot verify the authenticity of a specific physical item without examining it in person. Generally, Funko Pop! figures are authenticated by checking for the correct SKU and copyright date on the packaging, ensuring the figure has the standard 3.75-inch height, and confirming the box seal and holographic sticker are intact. Be aware that a 2012 release date for SKU 22 is historically inconsistent with the Dark Phoenix character, as that specific SKU typically corresponds to a different Marvel character from that era.
The Dark Phoenix Marvel Pop! was released in 2012 by Funko.
The 2012 Marvel Pop! #22 Dark Phoenix is out of print and is no longer available to buy new from Funko. This specific figure was part of the initial wave of the Marvel Pop! line and has since been discontinued, meaning it is only available through the secondary market.
It is important to clarify that Funko did not release a Dark Phoenix Marvel Pop! in 2012, as the company did not begin producing Marvel licensed figures until 2014. Therefore, a figure with this specific description and SKU does not exist in the official catalog, and you cannot grade a non-existent item. If you possess a figure that you believe matches this description, it is likely a misidentified product, a third-party replica, or a counterfeit, and you should verify the exact SKU and release year against official Funko records before seeking a professional grade.
