Common questions about the Dilophosaurus Pop! Movies from Funko (2018).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Dilophosaurus Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare. It was part of a standard mass-production run released by Funko in 2018 and remains widely available in both new and used condition. Because it was not a limited edition or exclusive variant, its production numbers were high, keeping its market value relatively low compared to scarce collectibles.
The standard retail price for the 2018 Dilophosaurus Pop! Movies figure (SKU 550) was typically around $12.99. As a common, mass-produced item from a major franchise, its current market value generally hovers near or slightly below that original retail price, depending on local availability and condition. It is not considered a rare collectible, so significant appreciation in value is unlikely.
To authenticate your Dilophosaurus Pop! Movies figure, first verify that the box is sealed with the correct 2018 release date and displays the specific SKU 550 on the back label. Inspect the vinyl for consistent paint application, sharp sculpting details, and the standard Funko logo on the base, as poor paint coverage or misaligned parts are common indicators of counterfeits. If the figure appears correct, you can cross-reference the box art and product details against Funko’s official catalog or reputable collector databases to confirm its legitimacy.

The Dilophosaurus Pop! Movies figure (SKU 550) is currently out of print and no longer available for purchase as new from Funko. It was released in 2018 as part of the Jurassic World collection and has since been discontinued, meaning new copies are only available through the secondary market.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the figure for manufacturing defects such as paint overspray, seam lines, or misaligned parts, while also verifying the integrity of the box for any crushing or damage. For a formal grade, you would need to submit the item to a professional third-party grading service like PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on specific criteria including paint, sculpts, and box condition.
