Common questions about the Ernie Pop! Sesame Street from Funko (2015).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Ernie Pop! Sesame Street figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item from the widely distributed Sesame Street line, and because it has been in print since 2015, it is commonly available in new condition at retail prices.
The value of a 2015 Funko Pop! Ernie (SKU 05) varies significantly based on condition, with unopened factory-sealed figures typically selling for $15 to $25 and loose figures ranging from $5 to $10. As a standard production item from a popular franchise, it does not command a premium price in the secondary market unless it features a specific limited edition variant or is part of a complete set. Prices can fluctuate slightly depending on current demand and the specific marketplace, such as eBay or local collectibles shops.
To authenticate your 2015 Ernie Pop! figure, first verify that the box is sealed with a tamper-evident sticker and that the figure itself has a smooth, consistent plastic finish without visible mold lines or paint bleed. Check the bottom of the figure for a clear, legible "Funko" logo and the correct copyright year, and compare the proportions and facial details against official Funko product images, as counterfeit versions often feature distorted features or poor paint application. If the packaging is missing, you can cross-reference the SKU 05 against Funko's official release database to confirm the item's production history, though the physical inspection of the vinyl quality remains the most reliable method for identifying fakes.
The Ernie Pop! Sesame Street was released in 2015 by Funko.
The Ernie Pop! Sesame Street figure (SKU 05) is no longer in print and is not available to buy new from Funko. It was part of the original 2015 Sesame Street release and is now considered a discontinued item. Collectors typically seek out this figure on the secondary market, where prices may vary based on condition and demand.
To grade a Funko Pop! figure, inspect the vinyl for surface scratches, paint chips, and mold lines, paying close attention to the head and hands which are prone to wear. Verify that the figure is properly seated in the base and that the eyes are aligned, as misalignment is a common defect. If the item is in its original box, check for box damage, shelf wear, and whether the window is intact, as sealed packaging significantly impacts value. For a formal grade, submit the figure to a professional service like PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on these specific condition factors.
