The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Evgeni Malkin Pop! Hockey figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item from 2017 that was widely available through major retailers and Funko's own channels. While specific variants like Chase figures are rare, the standard SKU 13 model is a common collectible that is frequently found in the secondary market.
The value of a 2017 Evgeni Malkin Pop! Hockey figure (SKU 13) varies significantly based on its condition, with sealed factory boxes typically commanding a higher price than loose figures. As a standard production item from a major league athlete, it is generally considered a common collectible rather than a rare investment, so prices are usually modest. I cannot provide a specific current market price without access to real-time sales data, but checking recent completed listings on secondary markets like eBay will give you the most accurate valuation.
You can authenticate your Evgeni Malkin Pop! Hockey by checking for the official Funko logo and copyright information on the base, which should read "©2017 Funko, Inc." and include the specific SKU number 13. Verify that the figure has the correct paint application, such as the black and gold Pittsburgh Penguins colors, and that the plastic is free of significant molding defects or seams that would indicate a counterfeit. If the packaging is present, ensure the box features the standard Funko branding and that the window seal is intact, as tampered packaging is a common sign of fraud.
The Evgeni Malkin Pop! Hockey was released in 2017 by Funko.
The Evgeni Malkin Pop! Hockey figure (SKU 13) is no longer in print and is not available for purchase new from Funko. As a 2017 release, it is considered out of production, meaning new copies can only be found through third-party resellers or the secondary market.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the vinyl figure for manufacturing defects such as paint overspray, seam lines, or misaligned eyes, as well as checking the packaging for any damage. Since standard grading services like PSA typically do not grade loose vinyl figures, the value is determined by the condition of the sealed box, which should be free of creases, dents, and fading. If the figure is loose, its value is significantly lower than a sealed unit, and you should document any specific flaws in the vinyl or accessories.
