Common questions about the Forrest Gump (With Medal) Pop! Movies from Funko (2019).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Forrest Gump (With Medal) Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item from the 2019 release wave and was widely available through major retail channels. Because it was not a limited edition or exclusive variant, its production run was large, making it a common collectible that is easily found in the secondary market.
The standard retail price for the 2019 Funko Pop! Forrest Gump (With Medal) #789 is typically around $12.99, and it generally holds that value on the secondary market when new in box. Because this is a common, non-exclusive release from a major movie franchise, it does not command a significant premium over its original retail price for most collectors.
To authenticate your 2019 Forrest Gump (With Medal) Pop! Vinyl, first verify that the box is sealed with the official Funko holographic sticker and that the figure itself is made of solid vinyl rather than plastic. Check the base of the figure for a molded copyright symbol and the year of manufacture, which should align with the 2019 release date. Additionally, inspect the paint application and sculpting details, as counterfeit figures often exhibit sloppy paint lines, incorrect proportions, or missing accessories like the medal. If the figure lacks these standard manufacturing markers, it is likely a replica.
The Forrest Gump (With Medal) Pop! Movies was released in 2019 by Funko.
Funko has discontinued the Forrest Gump (With Medal) Pop! Movies figure, meaning it is no longer in print and cannot be purchased new from the manufacturer. This item is now only available through the secondary market, such as resale platforms or collector-to-collector sales, where prices may vary based on condition and demand.
To condition-check a Funko Pop!, inspect the vinyl figure for surface scratches, paint chips, or mold lines, and verify that the medal accessory is intact and securely attached to the figure. Examine the acrylic dome for cracks, scratches, or cloudiness, as well as the base for any scuffs or damage. While you can perform a visual inspection at home, obtaining an official grade requires submitting the item to a professional grading service such as PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on standardized criteria.
