No, the Freddy Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1278) is not considered rare. It is a standard production item released in 2023 as part of the Freddy Krueger movie collection, meaning it was widely available through major retailers and is not a limited edition or exclusive variant.
The standard retail price for the Freddy Pop! Movies (SKU 1278) is typically around $12.99 USD. As a mass-produced 2023 release, its value in the secondary market generally hovers near or slightly below this retail price, depending on current local stock availability.
To authenticate your 2023 Freddy Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1278), first verify that the box is sealed with the correct Funko branding and that the figure itself has the standard matte finish without excessive gloss. Check the base for the embossed Funko logo and ensure the paint application is clean, as poor paint quality is a common indicator of counterfeits. While there is no single definitive hologram for this specific item, you can cross-reference the packaging details and figure weight against known authentic examples from reputable retailers to confirm its legitimacy.

Funko has not officially announced that the Freddy Pop! Movies (SKU 1278) is out of print, so it remains technically in production. However, availability for new units fluctuates significantly across major retailers and the Funko website, meaning it may be out of stock at any given time. Collectors should check current inventory listings directly, as discontinued items often become scarce once initial production runs sell out.
There is no official third-party grading service for standard Funko Pop! figures, so you cannot obtain a certified grade for this item. To condition-check it, inspect the vinyl for scratches, scuffs, or paint chips, and verify that the head is securely attached and the eyes are intact. You should also examine the box for any damage, as a mint-condition box significantly affects the value of the figure.
