Common questions about the Gudetama (As Chicken) Pop! Sanrio from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Gudetama (As Chicken) Pop! Vinyl is not considered rare, as it is a standard production figure from Funko's Sanrio line. It was released as part of a regular wave and is widely available through major retailers and secondary markets. While specific production numbers are not publicly disclosed, its consistent availability suggests it is a common collectible rather than a limited edition.
There is no established market value for a "Gudetama (As Chicken)" Pop! figure, as this specific variant does not appear in Funko's standard Sanrio production catalog. The Gudetama line typically features the character in its standard egg form or with specific accessories, but a chicken-themed version is not a recognized release. Consequently, reliable pricing data is unavailable, and any valuation would be speculative.
Authenticating a Funko Pop! requires checking for consistent paint application, sharp molding, and the correct Funko logo on the base, as counterfeit items often feature blurry details or off-center eyes. Since I do not have access to your specific item, I cannot verify its authenticity directly, but you can compare your figure against high-resolution images of the official SKU 48 release to check for discrepancies. If you purchased it from an authorized retailer, it is likely genuine, but buying from third-party marketplaces increases the risk of counterfeits.
I cannot find reliable information confirming a specific release date for a Gudetama (As Chicken) Pop! Sanrio figure with SKU 48. While Funko has produced various Gudetama variants, this specific SKU and design combination does not appear in standard public release records, so I cannot provide a verified date without speculating.
Funko has not officially announced a discontinuation for the Gudetama (As Chicken) Pop! Sanrio, so it remains technically in print. However, Sanrio character figures often have limited production runs and can become difficult to find on major retail shelves. You should check current stock availability on Funko's official website or authorized retailers to confirm if it is still readily available for purchase.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the figure for manufacturing defects such as paint overspray, misaligned eyes, or seam lines, and verifying that the packaging is intact with no signs of tampering. For a formal grade, you must submit the figure to a professional third-party grading service like PSA, which will evaluate it on a 10-point scale based on these factors. Note that the specific SKU 48 does not correspond to a standard Gudetama Pop! figure, so you should verify the exact product name and number before submitting it for grading.
