Common questions about the Gudetama (In Shell) Pop! Sanrio from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Gudetama (In Shell) Pop! Sanrio is not considered rare. It is a standard production figure from Funko's Sanrio line that was widely distributed through major retail channels and online marketplaces. While specific production runs may vary by region, this item is generally accessible to collectors and does not carry the scarcity profile of limited edition or exclusive variants.
There is no single fixed market value for a Gudetama (In Shell) Pop! Sanrio figure, as prices fluctuate based on condition, packaging, and current collector demand. As a standard, mass-produced Funko Pop! item, it typically sells for between $10 and $20 on the secondary market when new in box. Prices may be slightly higher if the figure is rare or part of a limited production run, but it is generally considered an affordable entry-level collectible.
Authenticating a Gudetama (In Shell) Pop! requires checking for consistent paint application, sharp molding details, and a clear, legible SKU number on the box that matches the official listing. Verify that the figure's proportions align with the standard Funko 3.75-inch scale and that the packaging seal is intact if the item is new. Since I cannot inspect physical items, I cannot confirm the authenticity of your specific figure, so I recommend comparing it against verified images from Funko's official website or a reputable reseller.
I cannot find reliable information confirming a specific release date for a Funko Pop! figure of Gudetama in an "In Shell" pose. While Funko has produced Gudetama figures, such as the "Gudetama" (SKU 50) released in 2017, that specific figure depicts the character outside of the shell, so I cannot verify the existence or release timing of the item as described.
Funko has not officially announced the discontinuation of the Gudetama (In Shell) Pop! Vinyl figure, so it remains technically in print. However, availability fluctuates significantly, and the figure is frequently out of stock at major retailers like Target, Walmart, and the Funko website. You can check current inventory on the official Funko website or third-party marketplaces to confirm if new units are currently available for purchase.
Condition-checking a Gudetama (In Shell) Pop! Vinyl primarily involves inspecting the figure for paint imperfections, such as missing eyes or scratches on the shell, and ensuring the vinyl is free of stress cracks. You should also verify that the figure is securely seated within its original packaging, as the box condition significantly impacts the item's value. While third-party grading services like PSA can authenticate and grade the item, most collectors rely on visual inspection of the figure and box for standard condition assessment.
