No, the Gwangi Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare. It was part of a standard mass-production release by Funko in 2018 and is widely available on the secondary market. Collectors generally classify this item as common due to its high initial print run and continued availability.
The value of a Gwangi Pop! Movies figure (SKU 617) varies significantly based on its condition, whether it is in the original box, and current market demand. As a standard 3.75-inch vinyl figure from 2018, it typically sells for a modest price range, often between $5 and $15 for loose figures and slightly higher for sealed boxes, though specific pricing fluctuates on secondary markets like eBay. For the most accurate and up-to-date valuation, checking recent completed sales on auction platforms is recommended.
Authenticating a 2018 Funko Pop! requires checking for specific quality markers, such as a smooth, uniform paint job without visible brush strokes or excess glue on the seams. The box should feature crisp printing with the correct SKU number 617, and the vinyl figure itself should feel solid with a distinct, sharp logo on the base. If the figure exhibits significant paint bleeding, misaligned eyes, or a soft, spongy texture, it is likely a counterfeit.

The Gwangi Pop! Movies figure (SKU 617) is no longer in print and is not available for purchase new from Funko. As a 2018 release, it is considered a discontinued item, meaning new stock is only available through third-party resellers or the secondary market.
To grade a Gwangi Pop! Movies figure, inspect the vinyl surface for scratches, scuffs, or paint imperfections under bright, direct lighting. Verify that the figure is securely seated in its original box with the window intact and that the box itself is free from creases, corner damage, or fading. For a formal grade, submit the item to a third-party grading service like PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on the condition of both the figure and its packaging.
