Common questions about the Happy Gilmore Pop! Movies from Funko (2020).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Happy Gilmore Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item from the 2020 release wave and was widely available in retail stores. While its value may fluctuate based on condition and demand, it does not carry the scarcity of limited edition or exclusive variants.
The Happy Gilmore Pop! Movies figure (SKU 978) is a common, mass-produced collectible that typically sells for between $5 and $15 in new, in-box condition. Because it is a standard release rather than a limited edition, its value does not significantly increase based on age, and prices generally fluctuate based on current retail availability and demand.
There is no widely recognized Funko Pop! Movies figure for the character Happy Gilmore with SKU 978, as that character is typically associated with the "Movies" line under different numbering or is not a standard release in that specific series. Because the specific SKU and character combination do not align with verified Funko production records, the item you are holding is likely a counterfeit, a mislabeled third-party product, or a confusion with a different figure. To authenticate any Funko Pop, you should verify the SKU against the official Funko website or reputable collector databases and inspect the figure for common signs of counterfeiting, such as poor paint application, incorrect logo placement, or a missing holographic sticker.
The Happy Gilmore Pop! Movies was released in 2020 by Funko.
Funko Pop! Movies figures are generally produced on a limited run basis, and the Happy Gilmore figure (SKU 978) from the 2020 release is no longer in print. It is not available to buy new directly from Funko, so collectors typically need to seek out third-party retailers or the secondary market for remaining stock.
Grading a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the vinyl figure for manufacturing defects such as paint overspray, seam lines, or chipped details, while also verifying that the box is free of significant wear, creases, or damage. For a formal condition assessment, you can submit the item to a third-party grading service like PSA, which will evaluate the figure and packaging on a scale from 1 to 10 and assign a specific grade. If you are checking the condition yourself, compare the item against high-resolution images of a known perfect example to identify any deviations in paint application or structural integrity.
