The Happy Gilmore Pop! Movies figure (SKU 978) is not considered rare, as it was part of a standard retail release in 2020. It was widely available through major retailers and Funko's own channels, meaning production numbers were high and it is not a limited edition or exclusive variant.
The Happy Gilmore Pop! Movies figure (SKU 978) is a standard retail release from 2020, and its value is typically determined by its condition and whether it is in the original packaging. As a common movie character figure, it generally sells for a modest price, often ranging from $5 to $15 for a loose figure or a slightly higher amount if sealed in a mint-condition box. Prices fluctuate based on current market demand, so checking recent completed sales on platforms like eBay or StockX will provide the most accurate current valuation.
There is no reliable public information confirming that Funko produced a Happy Gilmore Pop! Movies vinyl figure with SKU 978 in 2020, as the Happy Gilmore franchise was not part of Funko's standard licensed movie lineup during that period. Because this specific item does not appear in verified Funko production records, it is likely a counterfeit, a custom third-party creation, or a misidentified product. To authenticate any Funko figure, you should verify the SKU against the official Funko website or retailer listings and inspect the packaging for correct branding, holographic stickers, and manufacturing quality, but the absence of this specific SKU in official records strongly suggests the item is not a genuine Funko product.
The Happy Gilmore Pop! Movies was released in 2020 by Funko.
Funko Pop! Movies figures are generally produced in limited runs and are frequently discontinued once the initial inventory is sold out. While specific print status for the 2020 Happy Gilmore release (SKU 978) can fluctuate based on regional stock, it is no longer part of Funko's standard active production line. Consequently, new copies are typically only available through third-party retailers or the secondary market, where prices often exceed the original retail value.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the vinyl figure for surface flaws such as hairline cracks, paint scratches, or molding issues, while also verifying that the box is free of dents, creases, or shelf wear. For the Happy Gilmore Pop! Movies (SKU 978), you should specifically check the integrity of the golf club accessory and ensure the character's facial paint is intact. If you require a formal grade for resale or investment purposes, you must submit the item to a third-party grading service like PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on standardized criteria for both the figure and its packaging.
