Common questions about the Heat Ray Godzilla Pop! Movies from Funko (2021).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Heat Ray Godzilla Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare, as it was a standard mass-production release from Funko's 2021 Godzilla collection. It was widely distributed through major retailers and is generally available on the secondary market at or near its original retail price.
The Heat Ray Godzilla Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1018) typically retails for approximately $12.99, which serves as its baseline value for new, unopened stock. As a standard 3.75-inch vinyl figure from a major franchise, it does not command a significant premium over retail price in the secondary market unless it is part of a complete set. Collectors should expect to find this item at or slightly below its original retail price, as it is a common release rather than a rare variant.
To authenticate your 2021 Heat Ray Godzilla Pop! Movies figure, verify that the box is sealed with the correct Funko branding and that the figure itself features the specific heat ray pose and color scheme unique to this release. Check the bottom of the figure for the standard Funko logo and manufacturing details, and compare the paint application and sculpt quality against official product images, as counterfeit versions often exhibit blurry printing, misaligned parts, or poor paint coverage. If the figure appears significantly off in scale or material quality, it is likely a replica, and you should consult a certified appraiser or Funko’s official authentication services for a definitive valuation.
The Heat Ray Godzilla Pop! Movies was released in 2021 by Funko.
Funko has discontinued the Heat Ray Godzilla Pop! Movies figure, so it is no longer in print and cannot be purchased new directly from the manufacturer. This specific SKU is considered out of print, meaning any remaining new stock is limited to third-party retailers who may have leftover inventory.
To grade a Heat Ray Godzilla Pop! Movies figure, you should submit it to a professional third-party grading service such as PSA, CGC, or Beckett, which will assign a numerical score based on specific criteria like paint condition, seam lines, and overall wear. For a self-condition check, inspect the figure under bright lighting for paint chips, scratches, or fading, particularly on the glowing heat ray effect and the eyes, and verify that the plastic is free from stress cracks or discoloration. Keep in mind that these figures are mass-produced vinyl items, so minor imperfections are common, and professional grading is the only way to obtain a verified market value for the specific condition of your piece.
