Common questions about the Hello Kitty (Tennis) Pop! Sanrio from Funko (2020).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Hello Kitty (Tennis) Pop! Sanrio is not considered rare. It was part of a standard Sanrio release in 2020 and was widely distributed through major retail channels, making it a common item in the secondary market.
The Hello Kitty (Tennis) Pop! Sanrio (SKU 37) is a common 2020 release that typically sells for $5 to $10 in new, sealed condition on the secondary market. Because it is a standard, non-exclusive figure with high production numbers, its value rarely exceeds retail price unless it is part of a complete set. Prices for used copies are generally lower, often ranging from $2 to $5 depending on the condition of the box and figure.
To authenticate your 2020 Hello Kitty (Tennis) Pop! Vinyl, first verify that the figure stands on a clear plastic base with the Funko logo and that the packaging features the official Sanrio licensing logo. Check the back of the box for a valid UPC code and the "Funko" brand name, as counterfeit items often have blurry printing, missing logos, or incorrect color schemes. Additionally, the vinyl should feel solid and smooth without rough seams, and the eyes should be properly aligned and glossy. If the packaging lacks these specific licensing marks or the figure feels lightweight and poorly molded, it is likely a replica.
The Hello Kitty (Tennis) Pop! Sanrio was released in 2020 by Funko.
The Hello Kitty (Tennis) Pop! Sanrio is no longer in print and is not available to buy new from Funko. This 2020 release is considered a discontinued item, so current availability is limited to the secondary market where prices are typically higher than the original retail value.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! primarily involves inspecting the figure for paint defects, such as missing eyes, scratches, or scuffs, and verifying that the vinyl is free from stress cracks or warping. You should also examine the box for any damage, as the original packaging is a significant factor in the item's value. For a formal grade, you would need to submit the figure to a professional third-party grading service, though this is rarely done for standard retail releases like this one.
