Common questions about the Hello Kitty with Party Hat Pop! Sanrio from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Hello Kitty with Party Hat Pop! Sanrio is not considered rare. It is a standard production figure from Funko's Sanrio line, meaning it was manufactured in large quantities and is widely available through major retailers and secondary markets.
The Hello Kitty with Party Hat Pop! Sanrio (SKU 78) is a standard mass-produced vinyl figure that typically sells for $5 to $10 in new, sealed condition on secondary markets. Its value remains low because it is a common, non-exclusive release from a popular line, meaning it does not command a premium over its original retail price.
To authenticate your Hello Kitty with Party Hat Pop! Sanrio, first verify that the box features the official Funko logo and the Sanrio licensing mark, as unlicensed reproductions often lack these specific branding elements. Examine the vinyl figure for consistent paint application, sharp sculpting details, and a smooth surface, since counterfeit items frequently exhibit rough edges, paint bleed, or misaligned parts. Check the bottom of the figure for a molded copyright stamp and the correct SKU number, which should align with the product code on the packaging. If the packaging appears low-quality, such as having blurry printing or flimsy cardboard, the item is likely a counterfeit.
I cannot find reliable information confirming the specific release date for the Hello Kitty with Party Hat Pop! Sanrio figure (SKU 78). While Funko regularly releases Sanrio figures, precise launch dates for specific SKU numbers are not consistently documented in available public records.
Funko has not officially announced a discontinuation of the Hello Kitty with Party Hat Pop! figure, so it remains in print. However, availability can fluctuate significantly due to production delays or regional stock shortages, meaning it may be out of stock at specific retailers at any given time. You should check current inventory on major Funko and toy retailer websites to confirm immediate availability.
Pop! figures are not officially graded by major third-party authentication services like PSA or Beckett, so there is no standardized numerical grading scale for this item. To condition-check the figure, you should inspect the vinyl for surface scratches, paint chips, or mold lines, and verify that the party hat accessory is intact and securely attached. Additionally, check the packaging for any damage, as the box condition significantly impacts the value of unopened collectibles.
