Is the IG-88 (Assassin Droid) rare?
Sideshow Collectibles typically produces its 1/6th scale Star Wars figures in limited production runs, often ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand units, which makes the 2012 IG-88 Assassin Droid a collectible item with finite availability. While it is not considered ultra-rare in the same category as one-of-a-kind prototypes, its age and limited production status mean that finding a complete, unopened box in good condition can be challenging for collectors today.

How do I grade or condition-check a IG-88 (Assassin Droid)?
To condition-check a 2012 Sideshow IG-88, first inspect the paint for any chipping, fading, or "paint transfer" on the metal joints, which is a common issue with this figure. Examine the clear plastic parts for cloudiness or scratches, and verify that the included accessories, such as the blaster and display stand, are intact and free from stress cracks. If you are seeking a formal grade, you must submit the figure to a third-party grading service like Beckett Grading Services (BGS), which will evaluate the item's paint, plastic, and accessories against their specific grading standards.
