The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the James Gunn Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item from Funko's Movies line released in 2017, and it was widely available in retail stores and online marketplaces. While specific variants like Chase figures would be rare, the standard SKU 471 is a common collectible.
The James Gunn Pop! Movies figure (SKU 471) is a standard production item that typically sells for under $10 in the secondary market. Because it is a common, non-exclusive release from 2017, it does not command a premium price and is generally valued at or below its original retail cost.
I cannot verify the authenticity of a specific physical item without inspecting it in person. To authenticate a Funko Pop, you should check for the official Funko logo and copyright information on the base, ensure the packaging is intact with a valid UPC, and compare the figure's proportions and paint application against high-resolution images of the official 2017 release. If the item appears to be a third-party replica, it is not an authentic Funko product.

The James Gunn Pop! Movies figure (SKU 471) is currently out of print and is no longer available for purchase directly from Funko. As a 2017 release, it is typically only found on the secondary market through third-party resellers, where prices may vary based on condition and demand.
Condition-checking a James Gunn Pop! Movies figure involves inspecting the vinyl for surface scratches, paint chips, or discoloration, with particular attention to the face and hands where wear is most common. You should also verify that the eyes are intact and that the figure stands upright without significant leaning, which can indicate stress fractures in the base. While third-party grading services like PSA or CGC can provide a standardized condition score, most collectors simply assess the item visually against a "Mint" or "Near Mint" standard for personal records.
