Common questions about the Jaws from The Spy Who Loved Me Pop! Movies from Funko (2018).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, this figure is not considered rare. It is a standard mass-production item from Funko's mainline movie collection, meaning it was widely distributed and is generally easy to find in new condition. While specific color variants or limited editions might be harder to locate, the standard SKU 523 figure remains a common collectible.
The retail value for a new, sealed Funko Pop! Jaws (The Spy Who Loved Me) #523 is typically between $10 and $15. Because this figure is a standard release from 2018 and not a limited edition, it does not command a premium price in the secondary market. Unopened figures generally sell for near-retail prices, while opened items are worth significantly less.
To authenticate your Funko Pop! Jaws from The Spy Who Loved Me (SKU 523), first verify that the box features the correct 2018 release branding and that the figure's paint application, particularly on the shark's teeth and the character's suit, is crisp without significant bleeding. Check the bottom of the figure for a molded "Funko" logo and ensure the plastic texture matches the smooth, high-quality finish typical of official 2018 production runs. If the packaging is missing or the figure exhibits poor molding, discoloration, or incorrect proportions, it may be a counterfeit, so compare it against high-resolution images of the official 2018 release to confirm authenticity.
The Jaws from The Spy Who Loved Me Pop! Movies was released in 2018 by Funko.
Funko has discontinued the Jaws from The Spy Who Loved Me Pop! Movies figure (SKU 523), so it is no longer in print. While it is no longer available to buy new from official Funko retail channels, used copies may occasionally be found through third-party resellers or secondary markets.
It is important to clarify that the item described is a "Jaws" Pop! from the movie *The Spy Who Loved Me*, which features the character Jaws (Richard Kiel), not the shark from the film *Jaws*. For condition-checking this specific vinyl figure, you should inspect the head for any paint transfer, check the joints for looseness, and examine the base and accessories for scuffs or cracks. While third-party grading services like Beckett exist for Pop! figures, they are rarely used for standard retail items, so most collectors simply assess the figure's condition visually based on these common defect points.
