Common questions about the Josh Baskin Pop! Movies from Funko (2019).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Josh Baskin Pop! Movies vinyl figure (SKU 797) is not considered rare. It was part of a standard 2019 release and is widely available in the secondary market, meaning it does not carry the scarcity or premium value associated with limited edition or discontinued exclusive figures.
The Josh Baskin Pop! Movies figure (SKU 797) is a standard production item from 2019 that typically sells for between $5 and $10 in mint condition. Because it is a common release without special features like glow-in-the-dark or exclusive variants, its value remains low and stable in the secondary market. Prices can fluctuate slightly based on local demand, but it does not command a premium over its original retail price.
To authenticate your Josh Baskin Pop! Movies figure, verify that the SKU 797 is printed on the packaging and that the figure is produced by Funko, the licensed manufacturer. Examine the vinyl for consistent molding, proper paint application, and the standard Funko logo on the base, as counterfeit items often feature poor quality control and misspelled text. If the figure appears to be a high-quality reproduction with correct branding and packaging, it is likely genuine, though definitive authentication of vintage items may require consulting a specialized collector community.
The Josh Baskin Pop! Movies was released in 2019 by Funko.
Funko has discontinued the Josh Baskin Pop! Movies vinyl figure, so it is no longer in print. You will not be able to purchase a new, sealed copy directly from Funko or major retail partners. The item is now only available through the secondary market, such as eBay or specialized collectibles resellers, where prices may vary based on condition and demand.
To condition-check a Josh Baskin Pop! Movies figure, first inspect the vinyl surface under bright light for any cracks, chips, or paint imperfections, paying close attention to the face and hands. Verify that the figure is complete with its original box, which should be free of major dents, creases, or significant wear, as the box condition heavily influences value. If you are seeking a professional grade, you can submit the item to a third-party grading service like PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on the figure's and its packaging's preservation.
