The Kong with Battle Axe Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item released by Funko in 2021 as part of the Godzilla franchise line, and it was widely available through major retailers during its release window.
The Kong with Battle Axe Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1021) is a standard retail item that typically sells for around its original retail price of $12.99 when new in box. Because it is a common release from a major franchise, it does not command a significant premium in the secondary market, and its value generally remains stable or slightly below retail for used copies.
To authenticate your Funko Pop! Kong with Battle Axe (SKU 1021), first verify that the box is sealed with a holographic sticker and that the figure itself has a smooth, uniform paint application without visible brush strokes or air bubbles. Check the base of the figure for a clean, molded copyright stamp and ensure the plastic has the characteristic Funko sheen rather than a rough, 3D-printed texture. While there is no single definitive test for every counterfeiter, significant discrepancies in the box art, font quality, or the weight of the figure compared to a known authentic unit are strong indicators of a fake. If you remain uncertain, cross-reference the SKU and release year with Funko’s official product database or consult a reputable authentication service.

The Kong with Battle Axe Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1021) is no longer in print and is not available to purchase new from Funko. As a 2021 release, it is considered a discontinued item, meaning any new stock found today is likely limited to remaining inventory at third-party retailers or resellers.
To condition-check a Funko Pop! figure, inspect the vinyl for scratches, scuffs, or paint chips, paying close attention to the battle axe and the character's face. Verify that the figure is properly seated in the base without any gaps or wobble, and ensure the packaging is intact if you are evaluating it as a sealed item. For a formal grade, you must submit the figure to a professional grading service such as PSA, which will assign a score based on specific criteria including paint, plastic, and packaging condition.
