Common questions about the Kuromi Pop! Sanrio from Funko (2023).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Kuromi Pop! Sanrio (SKU 71) is not considered rare. It is a standard production figure from the widely available Sanrio collection, and while specific variants like glow-in-the-dark or exclusive retail editions may be harder to find, the base figure is generally accessible on the secondary market.
The value of a Kuromi Pop! Sanrio (SKU 71) varies significantly based on its condition and whether it is in its original sealed box. As a standard mass-produced vinyl figure, its retail price typically ranges from $10 to $15, and it generally does not command a premium in the secondary market unless it is part of a complete set or is in mint, unopened condition. Without specific details on the item's state, it is difficult to assign a precise market value, but it is generally considered a common collectible rather than a high-value investment.
To authenticate your Kuromi Pop! Sanrio (SKU 71), first verify that the figure is accompanied by a sealed, numbered Funko box with a holographic sticker on the bottom, as the company has used this anti-counterfeit measure on recent releases. Examine the paint application and sculpting quality, looking for sharp edges, consistent color saturation, and the absence of excess glue or "flash" on the plastic, which are common indicators of counterfeit items. Additionally, check that the "Funko" logo and copyright information on the box are printed clearly and match the official 2023 Sanrio licensing details. If the figure lacks the numbered box or exhibits poor manufacturing quality, it is likely a replica, and you should consult Funko's official authentication resources for further verification.
The Kuromi Pop! Sanrio was released in 2023 by Funko.

To grade a 2023 Kuromi Pop! Sanrio, first inspect the vinyl for surface scratches, paint chips, or mold seams, paying close attention to the black and white color separation on her face and ears. Check the base for any scuffs or discoloration, and ensure the figure stands upright without leaning. If you are seeking a professional grade, submit the item to a recognized third-party service like PSA, which will evaluate the figure's centering, paint quality, and overall cosmetic condition on a 1-10 scale.
