Common questions about the Kuromi with Phone Pop! Sanrio from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Kuromi with Phone Pop! Sanrio is not considered a rare item, as it is a standard production figure from Funko's Sanrio line. These figures are widely available through major retailers and online marketplaces, making them easy to find in new condition.
The value of a Kuromi with Phone Pop! Sanrio figure depends heavily on its condition and whether it is still in its original sealed box. As a standard retail Funko Pop! from the Sanrio line, an unopened copy typically sells for around $15 to $20, while an opened figure generally commands a lower price, often between $5 and $10. Because this is a common, mass-produced item rather than a limited edition, it does not have significant collector appreciation beyond its original retail price.
Authenticating a Funko Pop! requires checking for consistent paint application, sharp molding details, and a properly aligned base, as counterfeit versions often feature blurry logos or uneven seams. You can verify the SKU 88 against Funko's official product database to ensure the packaging matches the manufacturer's specifications. If the figure lacks a holographic sticker or the box appears to be a third-party reproduction, it is likely a counterfeit.
I cannot find reliable information confirming a specific release date for a "Kuromi with Phone" Pop! Sanrio figure with SKU 88. Funko's SKU numbering system is not sequential by release date, and SKU 88 corresponds to a figure released in 2010, which predates the Sanrio partnership and the specific "with Phone" variant you described.
I cannot confirm the current print status or new availability of the Kuromi with Phone Pop! Sanrio (SKU 88) without real-time inventory data. Funko frequently discontinues specific Sanrio figures, so you should check the official Funko website or authorized retailers for the most accurate stock information.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the vinyl figure for surface scratches, paint chips, or mold lines, and verifying that the phone accessory is securely attached and free from cracks. You should also examine the box for any dents, tears, or signs of previous opening, as unopened boxes typically command higher value. While Funko Pops are not officially graded by major third-party services like PSA or Beckett, you can assess their value by comparing your specific item to recent sold listings on platforms like eBay to determine its market condition.
