To authenticate your Loch Ness Monster Pop! Myths figure, first verify that the packaging is intact and that the box features the official Funko logo and the correct SKU number 18. Inspect the vinyl figure for consistent paint application, sharp sculpting details, and the standard Funko "pop" eyes, as counterfeit items often exhibit blurry printing or poor plastic quality. Condition-checking a Funko Pop! figure primarily involves inspecting the vinyl for surface defects such as mold lines, paint overspray, or scratches, and verifying that the eyes are properly aligned. You should also examine the packaging for any signs of damage, such as creases, tears, or "shelf wear" on the corners, as these significantly impact the item's value. While third-party grading services like PSA can authenticate and grade the figure, most collectors assess condition visually based on the presence of these common manufacturing flaws and packaging integrity.
