Common questions about the Lou Gehrig Pop! Sports Legends from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Lou Gehrig Pop! Sports Legends figure is not considered rare, as it was part of a standard mass-produced series released by Funko. These figures were widely available through major retail channels and online marketplaces during their production run. While specific variants or limited production years may have lower current availability, the base figure remains a common collectible item.
The value of the Lou Gehrig Pop! Sports Legends figure (SKU 19) varies significantly based on its condition and whether it is sealed in its original box. As a standard, non-chase edition figure, it typically sells for a modest price in the secondary market, often ranging from a few dollars to around $10–$15 for a new-in-box copy. Because this is a common release from Funko's Sports Legends line, it does not command a premium price compared to rarer or limited-edition figures.
To authenticate your Lou Gehrig Pop! Sports Legends figure, verify that the packaging displays the correct SKU #19 and features the official Funko logo and barcodes. Inspect the figure itself for consistent paint application, proper articulation, and the correct sculpt details characteristic of the Sports Legends line. If the item lacks these identifiers or appears to be a low-quality reproduction, you can compare it against verified listings on secondary marketplaces or contact Funko directly for confirmation.
Funko does not publicly disclose specific release dates for individual Pop! Sports Legends figures, including the Lou Gehrig SKU 19. While the Sports Legends line launched in 2019, the exact month and year for this specific character are not available in official manufacturer records.
The Lou Gehrig Pop! Sports Legends figure (SKU 19) is out of print and no longer produced by Funko. It is not available to buy new directly from the manufacturer and can typically only be found through third-party resellers, secondary markets, or used listings.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! figure primarily involves inspecting the vinyl for surface scratches, paint chips, and hairline cracks, as well as verifying that the box is free of significant damage like bent corners or torn flaps. While third-party grading services exist for collectibles, they are rarely used for standard retail Funko Pops, so most buyers rely on visual inspection of the item and its packaging to determine its state.
