Common questions about the Lurtz 8 inch Action Figures from Asmus.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Lurtz 8-inch action figure produced by Asmus is not considered rare, as it was a standard production item released in the late 1980s. While the figure is discontinued and no longer manufactured, it remains relatively common on the secondary market. Consequently, it is generally accessible to collectors and does not command a premium price compared to limited-edition or out-of-print variants from other manufacturers.

I cannot verify the authenticity of a specific item without examining it in person or reviewing high-resolution images of the packaging, box art, and figure details. To authenticate an Asmus Lurtz figure, you should check for the correct Asmus logo and copyright date on the box, inspect the sculpting quality and paint application for consistency with known production runs, and compare the item against verified examples from reputable auction records or collector databases. If the packaging is missing or the figure shows signs of modern reproduction, such as plastic molding lines that do not match vintage manufacturing techniques, it is likely a fake.
I cannot find reliable information confirming that a manufacturer named Asmus produced a Lurtz 8-inch action figure. Lurtz is a character from the 1988 film *The Land Before Time*, and while various toy lines have featured him, there is no verifiable record of an Asmus-branded release for this specific character.
The Lurtz 8-inch action figures produced by Asmus are no longer in print and are not available for purchase as new items. These figures were part of a limited production run from the 1980s, making them collectible items that are typically only found on the secondary market.
There is no reliable information available regarding specific grading standards or condition-checking protocols for Lurtz 8-inch action figures manufactured by Asmus. These items appear to be obscure or potentially non-existent in major collectibles databases, so I cannot provide factual guidance on their evaluation without risking speculation.
