The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Luv Pop! Movies series is not considered rare. Released in 2017, this line was a standard mass-production release by Funko, meaning these figures were widely available and produced in large quantities. While specific characters may vary in popularity, the series itself does not possess the limited production numbers required to be classified as rare.
The Luv Pop! Movies figure (SKU 479) is a standard retail release from 2017, and its value is primarily determined by its condition and whether it is still sealed in the box. As a common item from a popular line, it typically sells for a modest price on the secondary market, generally ranging from a few dollars to around $10 to $15 for a sealed copy. Unboxed figures usually have significantly less value.
To authenticate a 2017 Luv Pop! Movies figure, first verify that the packaging is a sealed, unopened box with the correct Funko branding and SKU 479 printed on the label. Inspect the figure itself for consistent paint application, clean seams, and the correct "Luv" heart accessory, as counterfeit items often exhibit sloppy molding or faded colors. You can also compare the figure's dimensions and specific design details against official Funko product images to ensure it matches the original release specifications.

The Luv Pop! Movies series was a limited-time release from 2017 and is no longer in print. Consequently, new stock is no longer available from Funko or major retailers, and the item is now only obtainable through the secondary market.
Luv Pop! figures are generally not graded by major third-party authentication services like PSA, as they are typically considered mass-produced novelty items rather than high-value collectibles. To condition-check one, inspect the vinyl surface for scratches, scuffs, or paint wear, and verify that the figure is securely attached to its stand without cracks. Additionally, check the original box for any damage, as the packaging condition significantly impacts the item's value to collectors.
