Common questions about the Maleficent (Chase) Pop! Disney from Funko (2017).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
Yes, the Maleficent (Chase) Pop! Disney is considered rare because it is a Chase variant, which is produced in significantly lower quantities than standard figures. Chase figures typically have a 1-in-6 odds of appearing in a sealed case, making them much harder to find than regular releases. This limited production run generally results in higher market value and scarcity compared to the standard Maleficent Pop! figure.
The value of a Maleficent (Chase) Pop! Disney figure varies significantly based on its condition and whether it is still sealed in its original box. As a Chase variant, it commands a premium over the standard release, but specific market prices fluctuate and depend on current demand. I cannot provide a precise real-time valuation without access to live sales data, so I recommend checking recent completed listings on platforms like eBay for the most accurate pricing.
To authenticate your Maleficent (Chase) Pop! Disney, first verify that the figure is a Chase variant, which is distinguished by a unique purple box and a purple "Chase" logo on the packaging, rather than the standard retail version. Check the bottom of the figure for the correct "Funko" logo and the year "2017" molded into the plastic, and ensure the paint application is clean without significant bleeding, which is common in counterfeits. Since Chase figures are produced in limited quantities, you can also cross-reference the SKU 232 against official Funko release records to confirm the item's existence and expected production details.

The Maleficent (Chase) Pop! Disney figure, SKU 232, is no longer in print and is not available to buy new from Funko. As a limited-production Chase variant released in 2017, it is now a discontinued item that can only be purchased through the secondary market.
To condition-check a Maleficent (Chase) Pop! Disney, inspect the figure under bright light for common defects such as paint overs, chipped plastic, or misaligned eyes, paying particular attention to the intricate details of the horns and dress. Verify that the packaging is intact and free of significant shelf wear, as the original box is essential for maintaining the value of a Chase variant. While you can perform a basic visual inspection at home, professional grading by a service like PSA is required to obtain an official condition score and authentication certificate.
