Common questions about the Manticore Pop! Disney from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Manticore Pop! Disney (SKU 724) is not considered rare. It is a standard production figure from the Disney movie "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" line, which was widely distributed in retail stores. While its current market value may fluctuate based on condition and demand, it was not a limited edition or exclusive release.
The Manticore Pop! Disney (SKU 724) is a standard retail collectible that typically trades at or near its original retail price, generally ranging between $10 and $15 for a new, sealed figure. Because this character is not a rare variant and has no limited production run, its value does not significantly appreciate over time. Prices can fluctuate slightly based on current market demand, but it remains an affordable entry-level item for Disney collectors.
To authenticate a Manticore Pop! Disney figure, first verify that the packaging is a sealed, shrink-wrapped box with a legible barcode and the correct SKU number 724 on the back. Examine the figure itself for consistent paint application, proper seam lines, and the official Funko logo on the base, as counterfeit items often feature blurry printing or misaligned parts. If the figure is unboxed, compare its dimensions and weight against a known genuine example, noting that fakes frequently feel lighter due to lower-quality plastic. For definitive confirmation, you can consult Funko’s official authentication services or reputable third-party grading companies, though casual inspection of the box and figure details usually suffices for most collectors.
I cannot find reliable information confirming a specific release date for a Funko Pop! Disney Manticore with SKU 724. This SKU number does not correspond to a standard Manticore figure in widely available Funko release databases, and the character is not a primary Disney property, making it difficult to verify without speculation.
Funko does not publicly disclose specific print run statuses or real-time inventory data for individual SKUs, so I cannot confirm with certainty whether the Manticore Pop! (SKU 724) is currently in print. You should check the official Funko website or authorized retailers for current availability, as Disney-themed items are frequently reprinted or discontinued based on licensing agreements.
Condition-checking a Manticore Pop! Disney (SKU 724) involves inspecting the vinyl figure for manufacturing defects such as paint overspray, seam lines, or chipped plastic, as well as checking the window box for scratches, creases, or "pop-out" damage. For a formal grade, you must submit the unopened box to a professional grading service like PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on the condition of the packaging and the figure inside. Be aware that grading fees and turnaround times vary by service, and the process is not reversible, so the box will be permanently sealed in a tamper-evident holder.
